My beloved MaMa (pictured here with James last summer) passed away on Thursday at the age of 96. She had not really been sick at all, so her death was a shock. Until she went to the hospital Tuesday afternoon for what we and the doctors thought would be a quick trip, she happily lived by herself. As part of the service, my brother, who is a minister, read the following entry that she had written in the front of her well worn bible: Before I speak, I should ask myself: Is it true? Is it kind? Does it glorify Christ? (Billy Graham) Skip and I had decided that this essentially was our family motto earlier this year, so how fitting and awe inspiring that God laid this same conviction on MaMa’s heart so many years ago.
